The School District has been made aware of an alleged threat against a school or student. I have personally viewed the subject group chat string and saw no threat. Nevertheless, we have coordinated with the Bee County Sheriff’s Department who also investigated and cannot substantiate any credible threat to the District or any student(s). We take the safety of our students and staff seriously. We also understand our responsibility to keep parents informed. If a threat existed, parents would be made aware of that threat and the actions we are taking. Unfortunately, these sort of rumors happen all too frequently. Conjecture and the spreading of those rumors are unsettling to parents, staff and student(s). We will always take threats seriously and err on the side of safety. In this situation, neither law enforcement nor District leadership investigations find a threat existed.

A high school student became sick in class after lunch. The parent was notified and the student was transported to the hospital.
